Back to Bobbi basics

How important is concealer to your everyday make-up routine? I go through phases, depending on the foundation I'm wearing. At the moment, as I'm into the natural look, I use MAC's Face and Body foundation in C3 (in summer I wear C4), so I need to wear concealer. I was getting bored and dissatisfied with the ones from Laura Mercier and MAC so I've switched back to Bobbi Brown.

It's a bit of a hassle having to apply two layers but I stick to what they advise: I pat on the pinkish corrector in Bisque first (this neutralises the bluishness), then the concealer in Warm Beige. A lot of the Bobbi girls I used to work with loved Bisque, even though they were lighter skinned. It's definitely worth a try, if you're not familiar with it.

Top: Bobbi Brown's corrector in Bisque and concealer in Warm Beige.
Bottom: Also from Bobbi the concealer kit in Natural.

I usually prefer to use Laura Mercier's secret brightening powder to set concealer but I had to get one of the new concealer kits, which includes Bobbi's recommended powder in pale yellow. The colour of this concealer is Natural, which is a bit darker - for summer.

What's your favourite concealer?

Making Moves......................................

Well I am always trying to figure out "what's next", I had a great meeting today and I wanted to share what I wore. This is one of my favorite dresses, this is another piece I would like to be buried in, so I can wear it to meet Jesus. LOL, I kid I kid!
Dress: Erdem
Cardigan: BP (Nordstroms Brand)
Bag: Chanel
Shoes: Oscar de la Renta

I got this dress 4 years ago from Capitol (boutique in Charlotte) and was obessed with the print and still am.

Caroline Sieber...........................

Probably one of the highest honors a fashionista can recieve is being asked to be a muse by a well known designer......well, it doesn't get more well known then Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld single handily picked Caroline Sieber to be one of the faces for the brand.
Caroline came to London to become an accountant and soon after traded in calculators for ball gowns and stilettos.

Sieber describes herself as the "youthful reinvention" of icon Jane Birken
(who the Hermes Birken bag was named after)
(Random Question: How do you get a bag named after you?)

Caterina Ravaglia || Grit Magazine

Caterina Ravaglia is cover star of the latest issue of Grit Magazine. She is also star of this beautiful  accompanying editorial. Is This It? Models Review summed up Caterina perfectly "It happens pretty often with Caterina, and I guess it means something. It’s because of what she can express, she’s… somehow hypnotic, she really can draw your attention, and she does in such a peculiar way, not because of a fresh or gorgeous beauty, she does in her own unique way. That doesn’t mean she’s not attractive, absolutely, in fact I love her femininity a lot, she’s so young and at the same time interesting, inscrutable, enigmatic." They took the words right out of our mouth!

Rory Torrens & Morgan Hurst || By Benn Healy

Here at Elite there's nothing we love more than a shoot that stars both our boys & girls, especially when it's these two beauties. We were delighted when our very own Benn Healy from our Art Department took to the streets with Morgan and Rory and this is what they came up with. And frankly we all love it!
