In-flight face: Take it off?

All the make-up books that I know that address this topic tell us to take off make-up as soon as we've boarded a plane.

I can understand that it's better for the skin. Especially on a long-haul flight, it's a great opportunity to turn a boring xx hours into a mega spa session. Think of all the creams you could slather on there, and if you got your cucumber slices past security at the airport, then...

But who is actually brave enough to take off all of their make-up?

I'm not.

What I have tried is taking off the foundation, washing the skin properly and moisturising it with creams and sprays for the duration of the flight. I left my eye make-up intact, however.

But every time I went to the toilet, I was disgusted at what I saw in the mirror. Lighting is terrible, anyway, but with skin that's super shiny (we're not talking sexy-dewy), blotchy (forehead, cheeks) and dark (under the eyes), it just made me want to run back to my seat and apply a full face of thick make-up.

Oh and imagine if you met someone you knew?
