Didi Benami Voted Off American Idol 2010 March 31

Didi Benami, a 22 year old waitress from Knoxville Tennessee got kicked off American Idol Top 10 March 31 results night. The judges refused to give her their save option. Didi is very emotional about the bad news that Simon Cowell told her. Tim Urban and Katie Stevens was with her in the Bottom 3 in the R&B/Soul performances of the American Idol Top 10.

Didi Benami chose to sing "Rhiannon" by Fleetwood Mac to convince the judges to save her but they did not budge after their deliberations. Didi is going home and it was a tearful goodbye for her.

Next week, the American Idol 2010 Top 9 will sing songs from The Beatles. That will be very interesting.

Didi Benami and Tim Urban in American Idol Bottom 3: Who Will Go Home?

Didi Benami, who sang What Becomes of the Broken Hearted last night, is in the Bottom 3. She's with Tim Urban who had a unsatisfactory Sweet Love performance. Katie Stevens was also in the Bottom 3 but she was adjudged as safe later.

I think Didi is in great danger. Will Tim Urban finally bow out of the American Idol competition after being in the Bottom in three straight weeks? Stay tuned in our live blog post.

American Idol March 31 Results - Who is Kicked Off in American Idol Top 10 Live Blog

It's American Idol elimination tonight after a grueling R&B Soul performances from the Top 10 finalists! Who of them will be in the Bottom 3 and who will be voted off? According to Dial Idol, it's either Andrew Garcia, Katie Stevens or Tim Urban who are in danger of being kicked off out of the American Idol Top 9 next week!

So, just watch this space here for real time results because we're live blogging the American Idol March 31 Results night!

*American Idol March 31 Results night is kicked off with Ruben Studdard (American Idol Season 2 winner) opening the show!

*Their Ford commercial is shown with them singing "Kung Fu Fighting" and they watched a premiere of Clash of the Titans. Mama Garcia says that she's proud that she raised Andrew right.

*Lee Dewyze is called up first. He's safe.

*Casey James is up next. He says he wants to give more each week. Aaand, he takes a seat because he's safe.

*Aaron Kelly is safe. So is Siobhan Magnus.

*Katie Stevens is in the Bottom 3.

Usher is up next.

Oh, Justin Bieber is in the show to watch his mentor Usher.

* Didi Benami is also in the Bottom 3!

* Big Mike Lynche is adjudged as safe.

It's Tim Urban and Andrew Garcia on the hot seat.

Unfortunately, the judges unanimously voted to let her go home.

Didi Benami is voted off the American Idol Top 10 and she looks very upset with that irrevocable decision.

Update on Spring/Summer Diet...............

Alright it's time to give an update on my cleanse that I started last Tuesday. Well I am sad to say, I only lasted six hours. I started the cleanse Tuesday morning and by 2pm I was eating a double bacon cheeseburger in Wendy's parking lot. (holding my head down in shame)
I felt terrible, then on top of that I ate horrible the rest of the week, I went to my favorite Chinese buffet Tin Tin's, I dranked wine and sweet tea vodka for four nights straight and I ate a whole box cake all by myself on Saturday. By Sunday night I had hit an extreme low point. But the key to anything is if you fail, you must pick yourself back up. So Monday morning I started brand new with No Carbs, which is more realistic for me. I have cut out breads, starches, sodas, juices, and desserts. So I am mostly eating fish, vegetables, chicken, eggs, nuts and beans. I get my work out on my walking in the evening for 40 minutes. I also have started a new cleanse Ultra Body Cleanse (pictured above). This cleanse requires you to take 2 to 3 pills a day and drank this herbal tea. I will keep you updated.

Foundations I'm trying to use up and the would-I-repurchase test

Even when I've find a foundation that I like, I'll keep on trying out others. And as I'm incapable of waiting to buy until I've finished what I'm currently using, I end up with - dare I say it - too many. The good thing about this is that I can compare products side by side.

My favourite foundations are MAC's Studio Sculpt in NC25-30, mineralize compact in NC30 and Face and Body in C4. But they are the darker end of the spectrum for me. So in the winter months I have been using (and trying to get rid of!) the 'older' products that also happen to be lighter in colour. These are:

1. Laura Mercier's oil-free tinted moisturizer in Nude

When I first got this, I was really impressed that my t-zone didn't shine as much or as quickly. I was using her powder to set it, which I don't anymore, and I'm using a different moisturizer under the foundation so the effect isn't quite as wow now. I don't find the coverage to be too low or sheer; I think the name 'tinted moisturizer' is misleading.

Would I repurchase? Yes, in another colour, perhaps. But I still have a back-up that I got when I was really into Laura Mercier...

2. Bobbi Brown's Moisture Rich foundation in Beige 

I like that it comes with a pump but I don't like the way the cap gets dirty. That's a minor complaint that has nothing to do with the product itself, which is fine. I use so little - half a squirt - that I get quite sheer coverage (similar to Laura M's tinted moisturiser). The glass bottle is fine for using at home but obviously not for travelling.

Would I repurchase? No.

3. Bobbi Brown's Luminous foundation in Warm Sand 

I was given this (tester) and this is too light for me so I'm not using it at all (I thought I'd mention it, though). There's also the risk of pouring out too much product. But the coverage is better, if that's what you're looking for, and more moisturising, with anti-ageing properties. I do like the creamy formulation and overall finish.

Would I (re)purchase? In theory, yes, but probably never will.

4. Shu Uemura's Face Architect in 764 

Another glass bottle. It comes with a pump (good) and the cap is much bigger and doesn't fit so snugly onto the pump so it stays clean - not a smudge of old, crusty foundation anywhere. Nice creamy formulation with good coverage.

Would I repurchase? Yes. And I would prefer to get this than Bobbi's Luminous but in a different shade (sometimes I think it looks too rosy).

5. Foundation sticks from Bobbi Brown (beige, warm beige) and Chantecaille (Camomile) 

I just don't like foundation sticks. I never re-apply foundation during the day (especially when I'm out) so I don't need it in solid form. Some people might find them useful for applying around the nose when you have a cold and need to blow your nose all the time. Anyway, looking at the swatch of Warm Beige, I think it's too pink. Camomile is too light for me. I should put this together with my concealers so I'll remember to use it.

Would I repurchase? Never.

6. Bobbi Brown's Smooth Skin fondation in Beige 
Another tester that I was given. I've never used it. I used to hear such negative reviews about this product that I'm quite honestly scared to use it. I know that it doesn't sell well, either, so I'm not surprised it's being discontinued - isn't it? It says 'last chance' on their website.

Would I (re)purchase? Never.

I completely forgot to swatch this foundation when I was doing the others - it goes to show how unloved this is by me - so on its own:

When I look at all of these swatches, they colours look so different that I'm rather horrified - how could I never have gotten strange remarks?!

Do you try and finish products, even if they are no longer right? 

Aaron Kelly Ain’t No Sunshine American Idol Top 10 March 30

Aaron Kelly is quite comfortable doing an R&B song and he's choosing "Ain't No Sunshine". I think the song is too overused in American Idol but Aaron smoothly gets through it.

Randy is not jumping up and down with Aaron's performance but he liked it. Same for Kara and Ellen. Simon compared him to a cupcake up with those with bigger performances for the night. Watch Aaron Kelly Aint No Sunshine American Idol Top 10 March 30 performance:

Crystal Bowersox Midnight Train to Georgia American Idol Top 10 March 30

There's something new about Crystal Bowersox this R&B week. She's doing the classic Gladys Knight song "Midnight Train to Georgia". Crystal is wearing a stiletto and playing the piano. It's the same old Crystal Bowersox on stage - nailing the song and keeping the audience in awe of her amazing voice.

Randy loved her version of the song. Ellen says she's showing another side of her. Kara is glad to see her take risks. Simon observed that she's overthinking the piano - he would not want to change her. Watch Crystal Bowersox Midnight Train to Georgia American Idol Top 10 March 30 performance:

Lee Dewyze Treat Her Like A Lady American Idol Top 10 March 30

Lee Dewyze wants to show his R&B side with "Treat Her Like a Lady". As usual, Lee Dewyze delivers an impressive number, although you still can see his doubts in his face when he's on stage. But who cares? Lee Dewyze is bound to make it big.

Randy thinks it was "the bomb" and Ellen says it was an "amazing" performance. Kara says it was amazing. Simon reminds him that this was the night he's going to remember for the rest of his life. Watch Lee Dewyze Treat Her Like A Lady American Idol Top 10 March 30 performance:

Katie Stevens Chain of Fools American Idol Top 10 March 30

Katie Stevens is doing Cha-Cha-Chain of Fools by Aretha Franklin. Actually, Katie says she met Usher before. I like Katie's performance but she's kind of off-key at times for taking on a major diva song.

Randy Jackson compared her to a young Christina. Ellen wanted to make the song a little current. Kara says Katie Stevens that she found her music niche. Simon thought Katie was robotic during the performance. He also disagreed that Katie is the "next Christina Aguilera". Watch Katie Stevens Chain of Fools American Idol Top 10 March 30 performance:

Andrew Garcia Forever American Idol Top 10 March 30

Andrew Garcia is showing us his version of Forever by Chris Brown. In the practice session, Usher sees that Andrew is nervous. Watching Andrew Garcia on stage doing a complete remake of a Chris Brown song, I think there's a good vibe in the song which will put him out of danger of going home this week.

Randy Jackson exclaimed that Andrew Garcia is back and this is his best performance in a long time. Ellen Degeneres thinks it was good. Kara says it was a one giant leap. Simon tells him is he is miles,miles better. As a person, Simon says that Andrew is boring as a person. He advices him to start having a personality. Tim Urban Sweet Love American Idol Top 10 March 30

After a total diss from the judges last week, Tim Urban is singing "Sweet Love" by Anita Baker. For veteran R&B singer Usher, he saw that Tim's problem is connecting with the song. The song was okay and mostly in tune – so no disasters – he will stay for another week.

Randy Jackson is looking for some vibe and some swagger to the song - it sounded too pedestrian. Ellen always thinks he's adorable. Kara Dioguardi took out the soul of the song. Simon thinks it makes no sense what the judges say. Smiling would make him stay for another week. Watch Tim Urban Sweet Love American Idol Top 10 March 30:

Didi Benami What Becomes of the Broken Hearted American Idol Top 10 March 30

Didi Benami is performing "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" by Jimmy Ruffin. With Usher, Didi Benami was moved into tears because she got too emotional. The performance was as forgettable, but I can see her effort struggling through the R&B night because she's not that type of singer.

Randy didn't observe any good "moment" while she's singing - it was all flat line. Ellen did not like it either - she says its "way too dramatic". Kara is also now confused about what Didi now as artist. Simon thinks the performance is so over-the-top and Didi has lost her way. Michael Lynche Ready For Love American Idol March 30

It's definitely Michael Lynche's night in American Idol Top 10 R&B Soul Night. He's singing Ready for Love by India Arie. Usher, being the mentor, is happy to see Mike's engaging performance.

Randy Jackson tells him that it's not very exciting but Ellen thought it was beautiful. Kara thinks he mastered singing from the heart for the audience to see his true intentions - it was lovely and it's her favorite performance for the night. Casey James Hold On I'm Coming American Idol Top 10 March 30

Casey James tried to impress Usher with “Hold On I’m Coming” by Sam and Dave. And Usher had no qualms about it saying that this long-haired American Idol Top 10 finalist is "a rockstar".

Randy Jackson thinks Casey James is in his element - it was a hot night for him. Ellen Degeneres thought "it was generic" and wants to see more from him. Kara agreed that Casey James should increase his range. Simon surprisingly liked his performance and though he sound authentic. Simon is "really,really impressed". Siobhan Magnus Through the Fire American Idol Top 10 March 30

Siobhan Magnus performs "Through The Fire" by Chaka Khan. It's R&B night in American Idol 2010. Usher is tonight's mentor. For the first contestant going on stage, Usher asked Siobhan what's she wearing so that he can give her styling tips.

Although I think the performance was satisfactory, the judges thought otherwise. Randy, Ellen and Kara thought that it's not Siobhan's best perfomance. Simon said the it was "all over the place". Watch Siobhan Magnus Through the Fire American Idol Top 10 March 30 performance video:

Victoria's Secret Angels at VS Swim Catalouge Anniversary

Last week, Victoria's Secret celebrated 15th anniversary of their SWIM catalogue. The special occasion was attended by Victoria's Secret Angels that wowed everyone with their amazing outfits as they walked on the pink carpet. See some of the Victoria's Secret Angels photos after the jump.

My yoga ritual

Yoga is something I want to enjoy and look forward to doing.... with a little help from these friends.

1. Brew some tea. 
It's always good to drink and I never drink enough. So I make a pot of Aveda's comforting tea.

If you make it right, it can taste really sweet, even though there's no sugar in it. It's still a matter of trial and error for me but it has to do with using the right amount of tea leaves - the more the sweeter. But it's quite an expensive tea so you don't want to use too much. Trying to get the right balance is not easy. Also, infuse for longer and it becomes sweeter.

2. Keep a scented room spray within reach.
I have another product from Aveda.

There are different scented sprays for each of the chakras. I only liked the smell of chakra 2.

There's so much breathing through the nose in Kundalini yoga that it's nice to spray it in the room. I do find that I have to re-spray it every now and then because the scent is quite light and doesn't linger.

3. Have a blanket ready.
I love the fleece blankets from Ikea. Even if you only do the short warm-up sequence, you should relax afterwards - lie on your back in Corpse Pose with eyes closed. My body cools down so I stay warm with a blanket.

4. Music.
Only if I'm not doing a full session (one whole DVD), I like to have my yoga music playlist ready for the relaxation part. It really helps me relax, unwind and not get bored. As Maya Fiennes says in her book, "(relaxation) is when the body processes the information it has received, rests and absorbs the changes and the healing."


All we have to do is make time... maybe that should be number one on this list.
